Drawing into Painting

Limited Enrollment Course
4 units
9 am-12 noon

Paul Stopforth

The workshop will challenge the boundaries for image making. We begin by drawing from observed nature, using its rich variety of forms as a generator of ideas for later paintings. Students will experiment with both traditional and unorthodox drawing materials. As ideas flow and the sketches and studies evolve, students will move into more personalized imagery, amplifying and resolving their work in a series of richly imagined paintings that reflect their own instincts, interests, and visions.
