Drawing the body as a way of knowing the body. The course combines intensive studio concentration on the analysis and representation of the human form with an examination of that form’s narrative and metaphoric possibilites. Students will explore a variety of approaches to viewing and depicting the model. The course will also include slide talks emphasizing the continuities between historical, non-western, and contemporary representation of the body.
