The Radcliffe College Classification of Scores
The Radcliffe College Classification of Scores was designed to provide easy browsing access to printed scores. Based on the Dewey Decimal System, the Radcliffe Classification System call numbers are generally organized by composer, thus allowing, for example, all the works of Beethoven to be shelved together, close to the the works of Bach. This differs from other classification systems which might organize music by place or era of composition.
This website describes the Radcliffe Classification System as implemented by the Morse Music and Media Collection in Lamont Library.
