Keylatch Programs provide youth from Boston's South End/Lower Roxbury with a high quality, enriching experience outside the classroom. Keylatch staff, families, and community leaders engage the youth in activities designed to allow them to explore new opportunities, deepend cultureal and community pride, and foster a love of learning. Through activity-based curriculua and focused attention, Keylatch seeks to provide youth with the academic, social, and civic support necessary to perpetuate the values of service and leadership within and beyond their communities.
Keylatch Afterschool provides free, safe, and enriching after school programming for children in grades K-5th who attend Boston Public Schools including Blackstone Elementary, and Hurley K-8 School. We conduct program on Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 5 PM. We help with homework and lead curricula and field trips designed to emphasize academic challenge, curiosity and positive values. This year, with the help of the Leaders! Program, we have also engaged high school students from local communities to tutor for Keylatch and model how to take action in their community to help others increase academic and leaderships skills.
