Life Story

• I was born in Shenyang in Northeastern China. I went to University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei. I was trained as an Electrial Engineer. Immediately after college, I came to the Graduate school of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. I am currently a PhD candidate at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. I am working with Prof. Jun Liu of the Statistics Department in Computational Biology. My thesis is on Bayesian methods of two dimensional clustering of microarray data. Graduate school is a unique enviornment. I like graduate school life as much as I like college.

Hobbies

• Barista skills : In my spare time, I manage Cafe Gato Rojo (a student-run coffee shop). I have had a lot of fun making espresso and fancy tea based drinks. Recently I started to practice latte art.
• Cooking: I am interested in all types of cuisines. I enjoy experienmenting fusion cusine that connects oriental and western cooking. I also find baking an amazing process.
• Reading: I define a relaxing Saturday afternoon by having afternoon tea with a warm scone and an interesting book.

• Others: Travel, Chinese Calligraphy, Wine/tea/cheese tasting.
