This course considers major issues in the history of Ukraine in the twentieth century, from the last decades of the Russian Empire and the Hapsburg Monarchy to the declaration of independence in 1991 and the adoption of the Constitution in 1996. While focusing on Ukraine, the course aims to offer a new perspective on the history of both Russia/USSR and Eastern Europe.
