Barbara Hillers
Department of Celtic Languages and Literatures
Harvard University

Course Description

A continuation of the fall term course, the class is designed to increase students' fluency and confidence in using Irish as a medium of spoken and written communication. Select new grammar topics will be studied, and regular writing assignments are designed to expand students' grasp of syntax and idiom. Students will be introduced to the main differences between the three main regional dialects and will read canonical texts in each of the dialects. Audio and audiovisual resources complement the literature.

Cuspóir an Chúrsa (Course Goals)

Chomh maith le sin, gheobhaidh muid blas de litríócht na Gaeilge, idir obair an ranga agus léitheoireacht aonair ag baile. Agus ar ndóigh beidh muid ag foghlaim amhrán, seanfhocal, is ranna ón chultúr traidisiúnta.
