Course Description

An introduction to Scottish Gaelic, integrating grammar study and conversational practice. New grammar and vocabulary are reinforced by regular written homework exercises, and audiovisual materials help students improve their pronunciation and comprehension. A couple of attractive children's books will introduce students to reading simple prose texts. Poetry, folksong, and film serve as an introduction to the vibrant oral and literary tradition of Gaelic Scotland.

Assessment

The work-load will be distributed evenly throughout the year, rewarding continuous input.
