Asparagus Spear Twists 1 box ready-rolled puff pastry (grocer's freezer section) 16 asparagus 1 egg Preaheat oven to 415F. Lay 1/2 cm thick sheet of puff pastry on work surface and thaw. Boil water in a large saucepan, and plunge asparagus in boiling water for 30 seconds. Remove asparagus, and place in cold water to stop cooking. Set on paper towel. When puff pastry is thawed, brush lightly with beaten egg and cut into 5/8 in (1.5cm) strips. Secure one strip of puff pastry onto one end of asparagus. Wrap around and down the asparagus. Brush end of the pastry with egg and secure to asparagus. Bake on lightly greased pan at preheated 415F oven for 10-15 minutes, or until puffed and golden. Serve, or store in airtight container.
