Learning Objectives

This course is an introduction to the fundamental concepts of database and information management systems. After completing this course, you should be able to: We will accomplish these learning objectives by studying various topics including: data models, such as relational and object-oriented; implementation techniques of database management systems, such as indexing structures, concurrency control, recovery, and query processing; management of unstructured data; terabyte-scale databases.
