Gerhardt's current book-length study examines representations of the Red Army Faction in literature, art, and film from 1970 to 2005. It has been funded by grants from the DAAD, Fulbright, the Berlin Program at the Freie Universität Berlin, and the University of California, Berkeley, where Gerhardt taught in the Department of German from 2000 to 2006. Gerhardt has also published extensively on the Frankfurt School and particularly on Adorno. She was the editor of Adorno and Ethics, New German Critique 97 (2006), and author of the critical introduction to and an article in this volume as well as the entry on Adorno in the Johns Hopkins Guide to Literary Theory and Criticism (2004). Gerhardt will be in residence at CES from February to August of 2008.
